Karl Lipscomb has been part of the Endorphin Fitness family for most of the years that we have been helping athletes. After a taking a break from triathlon life, Karl came back to the team last year ready to go. His goal this time was to finish an Ironman. He came back in full force and rarely missed a workout even if it meant training late at night after work. His first race back after taking a few years off was Raleigh 70.3. He learned a lot from that race about long course racing. He took that and applied it to his full IM distance race at IM Chattanooga with a fantastic finish. Most people who finish a full distance tri need a little time to regroup and recover. Not Karl! He was ready to race again at the finish of Chattanooga. He knew that his bike was his weakest sport and focused on building this over the next few months. He loves to swim and was consistently setting PR’s in the pool. He continued to work hard and raced the HITS Naples Half Triathlon this past weekend with a huge PR for the distance. The swim conditions were rough and he managed to pull off a 5 minute PR in the swim, a 23 minute PR on the bike and a 23 minute PR on the run – congratulations, Karl! And top it all off, Karl is one of the most selfless, most helpful, and most giving athletes you will meet. On weekends he is not racing, you will often find Karl driving to his teammates’ races to support them. We are proud to have him on our team!
