Chris Clark

Chris Clark

Our athlete of the week is Chris Clark! Chris has been training with us since June 2018. He just came off of crushing a huge PR at the Crawlin Crab half marathon. He beat his previous half time by 7 minutes!

Chris is primarily a runner, starting at the 10k distance, then entering a half marathon, then a full. He raced the Richmond marathon two years into his time running, and his next big goal is to race Boston! Over the last few months training with EF, Chris has also enjoyed cross-training and plans to compete in a triathlon next season. While training with EF, Chris has enjoyed the support and accountability of other athletes around him during workouts.

Chris started with Endorphin Fitness because he wanted to take his training to the next level. With feedback and evaluation from Ryan and the other coaches at EF, he’s been able to systematically work towards the big goals he set. He’s already seeing huge returns in his training. He broke his PR by a huge margin, but has also had more focus and mental strength.

The best moment of any race for Chris is when he gets to the start line of a race and thinks about all the work he’s done leading up to that moment. From there, he just has to let his legs take him to the finish line. A race is ultimately just the visible part of the huge amount of work supporting that performance underneath it all. Chris has certainly put in the work and we can’t wait to see where this determination and work will take him! His advice to a beginner is in line with that ethic. Don’t give up on achieving your goals, and be ready to put in the effort needed to do so!
