Andrew Wolak is a cycling industry professional with over 19 years of hands-on experience. Andrew graduated with honors from Virginia Commonwealth University’s School of the Arts in 2004 with a B.F.A. in Communication Arts & Design. He started racing bicycles competitively while attending VCU. As an active member of the university’s cycling club, he competed in collegiate races within the Atlantic Collegiate Cycling Conference — culminating with the distinction of ACCC Division II Conference Champion in his category in 2003. Andrew has competed in multiple cycling disciplines including road, track, & mountain bike racing. Andrew’s foray into the cycling industry started in 2002 with his employment as a mechanic and sales associate at a burgeoning local multi-sport shop. It was amidst this elite shop, personally servicing and repairing thousands of unique bicycles, where he developed a highly technical and advanced standard for service and repair as a professional shop and event mechanic. Over the years, Andrew has seized the opportunity to spread his expertise by mentoring and training many budding mechanics. He prides himself on building and maintaining strong relationships with clients and vendors. A strong personal desire for continuing growth and education within the industry led Andrew to pursue an advanced education in modern professional bicycle fitment from the preeminent expert in the field, Dr. Andy Pruitt. In March 2016, after four years of continuing education and implementation, Andrew achieved the cycling industry’s most notable accomplishment for a professional bicycle fitter — passing the Specialized Bicycle Components University’s Fit Technician certification exam. This exam, proctored by Dr. Pruitt, is the only pass/fail certification in the industry. Currently, there are less than 150 fitters worldwide who have achieved this distinction. From world champions to daily commuters spanning all levels and disciplines, Andrew has experience with thousands of cyclists and their bicycles. Currently, a true master of the trade, Andrew’s passion lies in his desire to improve your overall experience and relationship with your bicycle through unparalleled service, repair and fitment. Ever the avid cyclist, Andrew currently enjoys spending most of his time split between his mountain bike and his fixed‐gear bicycle — keeping things simple and classic. His two wheels take him wherever he so desires.
Specialized Bicycle Components University’s Fit Technician
Michael Harlow is the Founder and Director of Endorphin Fitness. As a USA Triathlon Level II Certified Coach and USA Triathlon Youth & Junior Certified Coach, Michael is regarded as one of the premier triathlon coaches in the country. Michael is the head coach of the Endorphin Fitness Junior Elite High Performance Team which has consistently placed in the top 5 nationally for the past 6 years and the Endorphin Fitness youth team which won the national championship in 2017. Michael has coached hundreds of athletes from age 5-75 across all levels and overseen the coaching of thousands of athletes by his staff. He has taken athletes from beginner to top honors at National & World Championships. Michael’s success lies in his ability to motivate and communicate knowledge effectively across all levels.
While in college, she developed a love for mountain biking and running which led to early involvement in adventure racing, non-traditional triathlons, and off-road duathlons. She has competed at all the running distances and all short and long course triathlon distances. Kim’s certifications include: AFAA group Fitness, ACE personal training, Schwinn Cycling, TRX, McGee Running, and is a USA Triathlon certified coach. Kim has guided many youth and adult athletes across all levels to enjoying success in the sport. She has a passion for introducing people to the sport and fostering a lifestyle of fitness.
Ryan came to triathlon through a successful swimming career. Ryan was a record setting swimmer at JMU (qualifying for NCAAs and the Olympic Trials) as well as CAA Rookie of the Year, CAA Swimmer of the Year, JMU’s Male Athlete of the Year (’97) and was inducted into JMU’s Athletic Hall of Fame (2010). Ryan went back to JMU for postgraduate work where he coached the JMU men’s swim team and found mountain biking, cycling, triathlon, and duathlon. Ryan is a master technician in the water helping all levels of athletes reach success on the swim as well as the bike and run.
Sally Fraser discovered the world of triathlon after the birth of her third child. She is a lifelong runner and picked up cycling during her post collegiate years so triathlon was a natural transition and an exciting challenge. Since 2003 she garnered consistent podium spots in short course, long course, on-road and off- road racing, including earning a spot on Team USA.She loves working with youth and beginners in the sport, encouraging them to find and challenge their inner athlete. She understands women who are busy balancing family, work and life and can offer help making triathlon a part of that balanced world.
