It was a running weekend with EF athletes at the Richmond 8k, Half Marathon, and Marathon as well as several the VA High School State Champs, VA Independent School State Champs, and Middle School County Champs among other running races. Across the board, Endorphin Fitness athletes had amazing performances!
It was a great weekend at the Richmond 8k, Half Marathon and Marathon. In the 8k Thomas Sonnery won his age group with a time of 25:47. Darren Barlow was 2nd in his age group with a blazing time of 24:35. Sam Blackmon was also 2nd in his age group! Tina Shriver had an incredible race placing 3rd in her age group with a big PR. Leah Gillespie had a breakthrough race in the 8k, running a PR, which made her 54th overall female and 7th in her age group. Coach Parker, Maggie Geoghegan, Cory Fines, Kelly Britt, Joel Brenny, Sarah Parker, Caela Dunagan, Jay Markiewicz, Petra Platzer, Jackson Wright, Andrea Wright, and Be-thy Vallejo all had great races!
In the Half, Matt Myers, Suzanne McWilliams, Dale Treadway, Kathy Scourby, Tim Brown, Mike Fridley, Freda Spencer, Michelle Fang and Monica Woodward all had fantastic races. Matt Winheim and Coach Andrew Callihan both set big PRs.
Greg Mathe had a great marathon while pacing his friend! While, Alexander Lienert, Heather Williams and Jonathan Cotten showed true determination in their marathon finishes.
In other running races around the globe, Sarah Look had a great race at Rock n Roll Las Vegas, Karl Lipscomb had a great 5k while on vacation in New Orleans, and Nick Pilgrim took another win in his hometown XC race in Bermuda.
Several great XC races at the state and county championships to report on. At the VA High School League State Champs, Parker Albright finished 2nd in the 3A division as a freshman followed by Chloe Ramirez and Sarah Menchavez who both had fantastic races. Emily Whitty had a strong performance in her division as well.
At the VA Independent Schools State Champs, Bill Londrey had an amazing finish to his senior cross country season with a course best time in the D1 Boys meet. In the D2 Boys meet, Ben Poling finished as 2nd 8th grader followed by Jonah Costen with both having a strong performance. In the D1 Girls meet, Eloise de Landevoisin Campbell finished 21st and 5th 9th grader. In the D2 Girls meet, Maya Sweeney finished a strong 11th and 3rd 10th grader.
In the Middle School XC County Championships, Kylie Bonser and Lucy Poh took 2nd and 6th place overall respectively, both with super strong races.
Also, Coleson Lindsey had a strong race at the Mt Trashmore CX race taking 4th in the Cat 4-5.
