Our athletes raced hard this weekend in what many of you know was a very cold weekend of early season races. Big congrats to everyone who braved the weather and gave it their all this weekend.
Endorphin Fitness athletes had very strong results at the Smithfield Triathlon. Our team claimed the overall men’s and women’s titles as well as strong placing across all age groups. Coach Michael won the men’s overall and Parker Albright won the women’s overall (3rd overall for men and women). Chad Albright took 2nd in the masters division, Alex Tan took 1st in his age group, Stephen Tan took 9th in the collegiate division, Brian “Walt” Walter took 5th overall and first in his age group, Matt Myers set a huge new PR, John Clarke took 3rd in his age group, Cort Kirkley won his age group, and Scott Dixon finished strong with a 4th place in his age group. In the 15 and under age groups, EF swept the podium on both the men’s and women’s side. On the men’s podium, Jacob Crouch took 1st, Joshua Gray 2nd, and Luke Craven 3rd. On the women’s side, Samantha Kayne took 1st, Ella Forlin 2nd, Caroline Osenga 3rd, and Anneliese Rogerson 4th. In the collegiate division, Christian Locke snagged 5th place among men and Emily Kontos knocked 7 minutes off her course PR!
At the Duathlon National Championships in South Carolina, Endorphin Fitness athletes also had some great results. Kathy Scourby locked down her spot for Worlds on team USA for 2019, and we had many EF athletes with strong finishes as well. Alexandra Poole took 4th overall and 3rd in her age group in the draft legal race, and then repeated on Sunday to again take 4th overall and 3rd in her age group. In the draft legal race on Saturday, Carson Everman took 5th in her age group and Sade Smith 7th in hers. In the non-draft legal race, Sade Smith took 5th, Marisa Ruotolo 8th, and Sarah Ruotolo 9th. On the men’s side, Alexander Tan took 8th in his age group.
At the ODU Sprint Triathlon, Anna Mihalovich took 1st place overall female, and Sarah Mihalovich took 1st place in the 14-19 age group. Mark and Eva Mihalovich also had strong results and braved the cold to complete the first race of their season.
Alex Lienert had a huge race and won his age group at the Charlottesville Half Marathon!
Cat Hart finished strong at her first Spartan Race this weekend- way to go Cat!
Emily Myers ran a PR in the 800 in her mid-week track meet!
Emma Weaver tied for 1st place in the Women’s 19 and under category at the EX2 Adventures Spring Backyard Burn Trail Running Series!
Jim Fisher and his teammate finished 2nd overall in frigid temperatures at Swim Run Lake James. They had to complete 3 miles of swimming in water in the 40’s and 13 miles of running with air temps in the 50’s.
At the 2018 EX2 Adventures Spring Backyard Burn Trail Running Series, Emma Weaver tied for 1st place in her age group.
