Big weekend of racing for our youth and junior athletes amongst many adult athletes. We had our junior team in Des Moines for the Flatlands Junior Elite Cup, our youth team at the RVA Splash & Dash Kanawha, and then our adult team all over!
Strong race for the EF Junior Elite Team at the Des Moines Junior Elite Cup. In the Junior Elite Female race, Parker Albright took 5th followed by Zoe Van Winckel in 15th, Abby Church 17th, Hope Frost 19th, Chloe Ramirez 24th, and Jennifer Zheng 28th. In the Junior Elite Male race, Alex Tan finished 36th. In the Youth Elite Female race, Samantha Kayne ran her way to 10th followed by Ava Larkin in 16th and Caroline Osenga in 47th. In the Youth Elite Male race, Jacob Crouch took 22nd and Luke Craven 42nd.
Congrats to all who raced the RVA Splash & Dash Kanawha presented by the Live Red Foundation. Brown Ukrop, Andrea Rogerson, Riggs Ukrop, Anneliese Rogerson, and Patrick Harlow all took 1st in their age groups. Ellie Harlow, Hadley Harlow, and Caleb Harlow took 2nd; and Annika Rogerson took 3rd. Austin Harlow and Cannen Harlow took 4th and Ariana Hotchfelder 6th.
Congrats to Katie Elliot and Jason Elliot who supported a friend with ALS who competed on a recumbent bike in the Aspen Valley Half Marathon.
At the Cul de Sac 5k #2, Michelle Fang took 2 seconds off her time from last week and Sarah Look ran a course PR! Danielle Hume finished 2nd in her age group.
At Colonial Beach Olympic, Tina Shiver and Charlene Wilhelm both had strong races with Tina racing the triathlon and Charlene the aquabike.
Matt Schiller got second place overall in the Great Escape 5k this weekend.
Coaches James Crabb and Kevin Hunt competed in the Fort De Soto Triathlon this weekend in Florida. James placed 6th overall and first in his age group, and Kevin placed 14th overall and 4th in his age group.
