Sam Longest started with us over the summer to prepare for Fall Cross Country. Sam competes with the Cap City Warriors, a local homeschool XC program, and does much of his training with the EF junior program. Since joining EF, he has broken through many barriers and is dropping time fast. What we appreciate most about Sam though is his non-wavering positive attitude and work ethic. Tell us about your journey to endurance sports. How did you get started?
I started running track in middle school to get in shape for basketball.
When was your first race? Tell us about it.
I ran my first 5k in 6th grade, and it was fun. It made me want to run more and get faster for future races.
What is your greatest accomplishment in the sport?
My greatest running accomplishment was running the Monument 10k this year.
What is your biggest goal right now?
My goal right now is to continue to train and become a stronger runner.
What motivates you?
I am motivated by the desire to be the best runner that I can possibly be.
Outside of training and racing, what are other important things in your life?
I like to play basketball and spend time with my friends and family
How has training and racing impacted the rest of your life?
Training has helped me to live a healthy lifestyle and has made me more disciplined in other areas of my life
Why did you choose to train with Endorphin Fitness?
I chose to train with Endorphin because I wanted to take my training to the next level.
What do you love most about training with Endorphin Fitness?
I like that I am challenged by both the coaches and other athletes. I also like that my coaches know what I need to improve, and they care about my progress.
