Reflections on 11 Years – 1.29.2016

Reflections on 11 Years – 1.29.2016
January 29, 2016 Michael Harlow

Tomorrow, we will gather for our 11th End-Of-The-Season Banquet. Eleven Years!!  In honor of eleven years, I thought I would share a few coaching and business reflections…

We Are Only As Strong As Those Around Us – Teams are units, not individuals, and individuals will always be made better or worse by their teammates.  I am thankful that the Endorphin Fitness team makes people better.  This goes for staff and athletes.  We all make each other want to be better and that is exactly what happens.  I believe that excellence breeds excellence, and EF is founded on a principle of excellence.  Because of this, the staff that choose to be part of EF are people desiring excellence, and the athletes have no choice but to choose excellence.  As a unit, we demand excellence of each other – staff of staff, coaches of athletes, athletes of coaches/staff – and this has made each of us what we are today.

Community Is Paramount – If you want to be successful at whatever you endeavor, build a community.  It doesn’t matter what you are doing, you need community.  This community needs to have a group of people who rely on each other, challenge each other, serve others together, and have fun together. I have been blessed with an amazing EF community over the years – we all have!  Running a business is not for the faint of heart, but our community has carried me through the best and worse of times, driven me to deliver nothing less than my best, and created lifelong friends who would do anything for each other.  That is true community, and I am forever thankful for each of you.

We Are Always Capable Of More – We have founded the business on the charge to “Be More.”  Over the past 11 years, I have watched the staff and the athletes find another gear over and over again.  We have refused to say enough is enough – this is all I have.  Instead, we have striven to dig deeper and discover the depths of what we are made of. That is what it is all about – that is what EF is about.  I am excited for what the future will hold.
I hope all of you are planning to join us at the banquet tomorrow evening at 5:30pm at Hope Church as we celebrate our 11th year and each of you!
