Great racing this weekend at Apple Cross Cyclocross race and three running races – the Norfolk Harbor Lights Half / 5k, the Backyard Burn Trail series, and the Chaplain Bay XC race.
Great racing for EF athletes at Apple Cross. Scott Evans had a season best finishing 4th on Saturday in the 4-5 race but unfortunately flatted on Sunday. Coleson Lindsay also had a strong race in the 4-5 Saturday finishing 2nd as did Justin Free. Presley Evans took 7th on Saturday in the 13-14 race and 2nd Sunday in the 11-12. In the Junior 13-14 girls, Ava Larkin took 1st, Olivia Christie 2nd, and Sara Mihalavich 3rd giving EF the sweep. In the women’s 3-4, Lexi Christie took 14th and Grace Sheehy 17th. In the women’s cat 4 race, Florence Lamirand had a very strong race placing 2nd followed by Maggie Christie in 4th and Anna Mihalavich in 9th. Great races by all.
Several EF athletes ran the Norfolk Harbor Lights Half with Andrea Wright having a strong race, Heather Williams grabbing a huge PR of 1:35 just one week after the Richmond Marathon, Megan Middleton completing her first race at the 13.1 distance, and Coach Ryan Middleton finishing third overall with a time of 1:14. Allyson Whitfield ran the 5k setting a big PR!
Shannon Baird had another great race on a chilly morning at the Backyard Burn Trail Run.
In Bermuda, Nick Pilgrim took another win at the Chaplain Bay XC race with a super strong race.
