Big races this weekend for several Endorphin Fitness athletes at the Draft Legal Triathlon and Duathlon World Championships qualifier, Ironman Florida, Best of the Best Triathlon, Across the Bay 10k, VCU Cyclocross Race, and several XC races and swim meets.
We had three huge performances at the Draft Legal Triathlon and Duathlon World Championship Qualified this weekend. They were all such huge performances such as Megan Merryman and Coach Parker Spencer both earning their elite licenses so we are highlighting each separately below.
Megan Merryman had an incredible race at the NCAA national championships placing 6th overall against the best collegiate triathletes in the country. As if that was not enough she raced the Duathlon Draft Legal World Championship Qualifier placing 2nd overall qualifying for the Duathlon Draft Legal World Championships next year in Penticton, Canada. This also qualified her for her Triathlon Elite License.
Coach Parker Spencer raced the Triathlon Draft Legal World Championship Qualifier on Saturday and Duathlon Draft Legal World Championship Qualifier on Sunday. He placed 11th overall and 2nd age group on Saturday qualifying him for the 2017 Triathlon Draft Legal World Championships in The Netherlands. On Sunday, he placed 2nd overall to qualify for the 2017 Duathlon Draft Legal Championships in Penticton, Canada. Based off his multiple Duathlon performances throughout the year and strong finish this weekend, Coach Parker has qualified for his Duathlon Elite License!
Carson Everman also raced the Triathlon Draft Legal World Championship Qualifier on Saturday with a breakthrough performance placing her 7th in her age group and qualifying her for the 2017 Triathlon Draft Legal World Championships.
PJ Gallagher and Lee White both finished their 2nd Ironman of the year with PRs at Ironman Florida. Great job to both of you!!
Chris Taylor raced the Best of the Best Triathlon in Dallas Texas this weekend with a strong finish in a tough field placing 4th in his age group.
Maggie Geoghegan is back from injury and had a great day at the Across the Bay 10k.
At the VCU Cyclocross Race, Coleson Lindsey took 1st in Men 4/5 and Coach Kate Fisher took 3rd Women 35+. Kaitlyn Yasnowsky, Cary Lindsey, Clark Tanner, Dane King, Lindsey King, and Denny King all raced and had great races.
Parker Albright set several new PRs at her swim meet this weekend.
Several strong cross country races this past week. Kylie Bonser and Lucy Poh competed in the middle school regional cross country meet this week with a 5th and 13th place overall finish respectively. Emily Whitty finished 21st overall in the varsity girls cross country regional, qualifying for states individually. Maya Sweeney took the win in her race. Paige Lind had a strong race in the NY state XC race. Kieran Haug finished 13th in the Connecticut State Champs. Eloise de Landevoisin finished 15th in the LIS XC Champs. Nick Pilgrim took another win in a XC race in Bermuda with a super strong race.
