Great week of racing for EF athletes. With Thanksgiving comes lots of Turkey runs plus we are happy to report on the MABRA Cyclocross Champs.
At the U of R Turkey Trot, Cory Fines took 4th in his age group while Karl Lipscomb and Maggie Geoghegan both had strong races. In Chicago at the Thanksgiving 5k, Erika Jurkowski PR’d as did Coach Andrew Callihan at the Drumstick Dash 5k in Roanoke. Megan Merryman and Katie Palavecino both had fantastic races at the Alexandria Turkey Trot 5 miler. Coach Parker, Kristy Spencer, Thomas Sonnery and Khoi Tran all had great races at the Lynchburg Turkey Trot 5k. Last but not least, Allan Ng ran a race perfect to plan at a 5 miler in Alexandria.
Two EF athletes raced the Nike Cross Country Regional Championship for their region. Paige Lind had a super strong race in the Northeast Regional and Parker Albright a good race despite sickness in the Southeast Regional.
Nick Pilgrim raced a track mile in Bermuda going 5:05 which was a 12 sec PR over last year and qualified him for a big mile road race in Bermuda.
At the EX2 Backyard Burn, Shannon Baird finished the last of the Fall Backyard Trail Run series strong and finished at the top of her age group for the series!
Several EF athletes the MABRA Cyclocross Championship this weekend. Sade Smith placed 3rd (seconds behind second) in the Juniors 15-18 and Jenna Free placed 5th in the same race. Justin Free also had a strong race finishing 4th in the Cat 4/5 Men.
