Congratulations to all of our athletes that raced this weekend! We had athletes compete in the USAT Age Group Nationals, Pink Power Triathlon, Connecticut State Championship, Rock and Roll 5k, Lynchburg 5k and USAT Florida Talent ID Series.
It is always amazing to see how much talent there is at the USAT Age Group National Championship. Over the years it has developed as arguably the most competitive age group race in the world. This year Matt Schiller drastically improved his performance from last year and placed 8th in his age group in the Olympic Distance Race and 3rd in his age group in the Sprint Distance Race. He qualified for Team USA in both races with the opportunity to race in the ITU World Championships in the Netherlands next September. John Clarke also improved his performance from last year in the Sprint Distance Race with a very solid performance.
The Endorphin Fitness Florida duo of Megan Buchanan and Jessica Blazek raced the Championship finale of the USAT Florida Region Talent ID Series. Megan placed 3rd overall female, 1st in the Talent ID race and won the Series Championship. Jessica placed a close 3rd in the Talent ID race and and finished 2nd in the Series.
Two EF athletes took the top two spots in the USAT Florida Talent ID Series 2016.
The Pink Power Triathlon is one of the local Richmond favorites and one of the few all women triathlon in the country. Coach Kate Fisher was 3rd overall. Julie Julian was 5th overall and 1st in her age group. Rachel McNeal and Sarah Ruotolo won their age groups. Team Walsh with Meredith Walsh took 1st in the relay category. Dawn Carter, Kathy Scourby and Monica Woodward all had great races with Dawn dropping over 15 minutes off her time from last year!
Kieran Haug took 2nd in the Northeast Region at the Connecticut State Champs.
Matt England and Laura Todd both had strong finishes in the Rock and Roll 5k.
Dale Treadway had a great race at Lynchburg 5k placing 1st in her AG and putting her in great standing for the race series!
