We have a few races to report on this week, including the Ashland Harvest Run, the Liberty University Triathlon, and the Baltimore Half Marathon. As race season winds down and many of our athletes are finishing out their peak races, we just want to again congratulate all athletes racing! Don’t forget to speak with your coach over the next few weeks and decide what your 2019 race season will look like and how to gear up for off-season training! Let’s get started on this weekend’s races!
Emily Kontos completed the Liberty Triathlon Olympic race with a huge PR of 20:00 (mostly coming from crushing her swim). Christian Locke competed in the Draft Legal race at the same event; he executed his race plan well, and finished the race with a strong run. Alex Tan had a strong race as well, placing 14th overall.
Jax Bethel completed the Baltimore Half Marathon in a time of 1:49
Dennis Kao participated in the Tuna 200 Mile relay race run this weekend, running a total of 15.4 miles.
Another strong week of XC races for many of our XC runners. Alexandra Poole and Hope Frost both took wins in their races. 8th graders Josh Gray and Caroline Osenga took 11th and 13th respectively in the JV District Championship. Caroline set a course PR. Cooper Albright raced twice this week putting down strong times in both.
Presley Evans, Jake Dysart, Caleb McCaskill, and Rex Nguyen all had strong races at the NICA Bedford Hills mountain bike race.
At the final race of the Healthy Kids Run Series, EF athletes finished out the season strong. We will update these race results with the final race result when the race director posts but we wanted to announce the series winners. In the 2-3rd grade division, Ellie Harlow took the series win. In the 4-5th grade division, Andrea Rogerson took 1st, Hadley Harlow 2nd, and Austin Harlow 3rd. For the middle school division, Caleb Harlow took 1st on the boy’s side and Hazel Wells took 1st on the girl’s side.
At the Colonial District XC meet, Colby Burcham took the overall win, Jake Schindel 4th, and Connor Zebrowski and Chase Brooksbank both had strong races!
At the Running with the Wolves Invite, both Connor Doyle and Logan White had strong races!
Jean Kleitz set a PB at the Columbus Marathon with a time of 3:07:37, and was 5th in her AG and 26th for overall females. She executed a perfect race plan.
At the Ashland Harvest Run, Sarah Look grabbed a huge PR in the 10k, Monica Woodward had a strong run in the midst of her Richmond Half Marathon block of training. Jim Fuller finished 13th overall in the 5k! Coach Ryan Middleton took the overall 10k win in 33:28.
Congrats to all our athletes who raced!
