We have one of our biggest races of the year to report on, youth and junior triathlon nationals in West Chester, Ohio! It’s a big race for our youth team, so we had an awesome turnout with athletes coming from Endorphin Fitness programs all over the East Coast. It’s always a highlight of our calendar! We also have a few other races to report on from our adult athletes, and as always, congrats to all athletes who raced! Let’s get started.
Endorphin Fitness had an amazing weekend at Youth/Junior Nationals. Overall, 2 elite podiums, 5 age group wins, 7 age group podiums, and 15 athletes in the top 10 over the weekend. As a team, we finished out the season as the 4th ranked elite team and 3rd ranked age group team. Below are the individuals that made this possible.
In the youth and junior elite races, we had strong races across the board. In the Junior Elite Female race, Parker Albright led the way with a strong 2nd place finish followed by Abby Church in 5th, Zoe Van Winckel 13th, Alexandra Poole 19th, Hannah Ye 22nd, Jennifer Zheng 26th, Chloe Ramirez 32nd, and Grace Sheehy 34th. In the Junior Elite Male race, Kieran Haug recovered from a crash on the bike to still finish a strong 22nd followed by Alex Tan in 45th. In the Youth Elite Female race, Hope Frost finished 3rd in a close sprint finish with the first 3 finishers crossing the line within 2 sec of each other. Hope was followed by Samantha Kayne with a season best 6th, Ava Larkin 13th, Mikaela Garza 49th, Emme Cate Heilbrun 52nd, and Annalise Williams in 58th. In the Youth Elite Male race, Joshua Gray finished 43rd, Jacob Crouch 45th, Tate Frost 51st, and Luke Craven 64th.
In the Age Group Race, we crowned 5 national champions: Congrats to Josie Nunziata, Ellie Harlow, Andrea Rogerson, Gabe Nunziata, and Hazel Wells on their wins. Caroline Osenga took 3rd in her age group with a breakthrough race. Whitfield Evans took 5th, Eve Frost 6th, Presley Evans 7th, Avery Diette 8th, Roman Steis 10th, Lucy Nunziata 11th, Lily Stimson 12th, Hattie Wells 13th, Anneliese Rogerson 13th, Colin Hasheider and Ian Hasheider 15th, James Beard 19th, Lucas Van Winckel 21st, Tommy Beard 23rd, Isaac Lamprecht 24th, Annika Rogerson 25th, Aiden Williams 31st, Casey Hough 37th, Caleb Harlow 41st, and Ethan Garza 47th.
Kristopher Scott competed in the Culpeper Endurance Festival this weekend, completing the 60 mile ride on Saturday, then the Olympic triathlon-turned-duathlon on Sunday
At the Coast Guard Cutter 10k, Monica Woodward grabbed a 5k PR in the midst of her 10k race! She stuck to the plan, racing the first half, and then finishing the 10k for volume- still coming in the top half of her AG. Well done Monica!
