TEAM BIOS
James Busch has an academic GPA of 4.1 at St. Christopher's School and is on the Honors List. He is a Cellist in the Chamber Orchestra and is an Eagle Scout. As an athlete, James is All-Prep and 2 times All State in the 4x800 in Track, All-Prep in Cross Country, and is a captain of the 2010 Cross Country Team. He has a PR of 2:02 in the 800, 4:36 in the 1600, and 10:03 in the 3200. He is also going to continue running Cross Country and Track and Washington and Lee University next fall. 
Collin Chartier received his third varsity letter on the W.T. Woodson High School Swim and Dive team, competing at both the district and regional championship meets as a Junior. For W.T. Woodson High School, he also competes on the Cross Country team. Competing for the Potomac Marlin swim team, he swims year-around and has been swimming with the team for 7 years. In September 2009, he completed his first sprint triathlon, Dewey Beach Triathlon, winning in his 15-19 age group. The following year at Dewey Breach Triathlon, he placed first in his 15-19 age group and placed 2nd overall. Working at a local bike shop, The Bike Lane, he receives techniques and experience from co-workers. Collin is looking forward to spending the rest of his life as a multi-sport athlete.

Stone Dyson is a 14 year-old 9th grader at Freeman High School. Stone is taking honors classes, including two 10th grade classes as a 9th grader. Stone ran his first race at age six and started triathlon in the fifth grade. Some of Stone’s 2011 accomplishments include a 5th place at the Youth Elite National Championship, winning the 15 and under age group in the Virginia Triathlon Series, and being ranked 7th for the Youth Elite National rankings. Stone has also received All-American Honors in the USA Triathlon non-draft legal rankings for ages 15 and under. He has competed in many local triathlons, winning his age group numerous times. Outside of school and training, Stone runs varsity cross-country for Freeman and is a varsity letter recipient. He is a former Cub Scout and Boy Scout. He was also selected as captain of the AAA Safety Council. Stone enjoys sailing and was chosen by the YMCA as a Counselor in Training (CIT), helping children learn to sail in Deltaville, Va. Stone is also active in his church.

Julia Fraser competed in her first triathlon when she was 8 years old and knew from the start it was the sport for her. Shortly thereafter she began training with Endorphin Fitness and has continued to grow in the sport. Her record includes numerous first place age group wins over the years including a recent fifth overall female/first place age group finish at the 2010 Powersprint Triathlon. She has also placed in the top 1st and 2nd spots for her age group in the National Duathlon Championships for the last several years and she placed 11th overall in the Youth Triathlon National Championships in Colorado in 2008. Julia will attend Atlee High School this fall as a 9th grader, pursuing the International Baccalaureate degree. In her spare time Julia enjoys teaching herself the Asian language of Karen as well as Gaelic Irish. She loves animals and is involved with volunteering at the Richmond SPCA. She has a great interest in world culture and politics and served on the 2009/2010 planning committee for Hanover’s Global Youth Service Day.

Adam Glymph is 14 years old and has been competing in youth and sprint triathlons for 4 years. He raced in his 1st sprint level race in October 2009 and has many races planned for 2010 and beyond. His favorite part of the race is the bike portion. Adam likes to race hard, go fast and have fun! Adam also excels in school. He was just recently accepted into the LC Bird Academy for Engineering studies where he will be beginning his high school career with a focus on engineering. He is very interested in aerodynamics and his dream job is to work for one of the top bicycle manufacturers to design the most aerodynamic bikes for triathletes. Outside of school and triathlon training, Adam likes to hang out with his family. This summer Adam is volunteering at Meals on Wheels to help prepare and deliver meals.

Andrew Gyenis is currently a Georgetown Preparatory School in Maryland where he is a top student taking honors and AP classes. He has been competing in high school varsity cross country, swimming, and track since his freshman year. His first triathlon was in 2009 where he was first out of the water and won his age group. An avid swimmer since age 4, Andrew was intrigued by triathlon after he discovered open water swimming and natural running talent. He was Freshman of the Year in Cross Country in 2008 in the DC Metro Area and helped his team to the conference championship. His accomplishments include Scholastic All-American in the freshman mile in 2009 and the youngest winner ever of the Great Chesapeake Bay Swim in 2010. In his USAT Junior Elite debut at National Championships in San Diego in 2010, Andrew placed 16th overall. He qualified to represent the USA at ITU PATCO Championships in Edmonton, Canada in July 2011. An overall sports enthusiast, Andrew is a certified soccer referee and still enjoys playing basketball for fun and working with special needs children in various sports activities. He is passionate about fishing and usually checks out the aquatic life in an open water venues.
Dane King is a senior at Dinwiddie High School. He has received a four year varsity letter in Cross Country where he was also team captain and placed in the top 5 in the district. Dane also received varsity letters for multiple years in Track and Field. He is an active member in Dinwiddie High's National Honor Society, 100 Milers Club, SODA Youth Mentorship program, and also serves as Sergeant at Arms of the Ruriteens Community Service Club. Dane began running at 8 years old but just discovered his love for triathlons with Endorphin in 2008. Dane is planning to attend Virginia Commonwealth University in the fall to pursue a doctorate in Sports Medicine and continue training with Endorphin Fitness.
Armi Legge is an entrepreneur, writer, personal trainer, and sponsored athlete. He found his passion in life when he competed in his first triathlon at age eight. In addition to triathlons, Armi competes as a runner and cyclist, and cross-trains with sports like hiking, kayaking, Parkour, and power lifting. At the age of 17, he has achieved over 50 victories and top ten finishes. He got his first sponsor at age 13, and now 15 companies support his athletic pursuits.
Armi works as a research analyst and writer for The Bulletproof Executive, a blog where over 30,000 people per month read his writing about finding the best ways to improve health and increase mental and physical performance. Armi also co-hosts and produces Upgraded Self Radio, a popular iTunes podcast which interviews leading fitness and nutrition experts about ways to perform better in life. Dylan Morgan is currently a senior at South County Secondary School in Fairfax County. He has been accepted to the United States Military Academy at West Point, where he will compete for one of the top collegiate triathlon teams in the nation as a member of the class of 2016. He has been competing in high school cross country and track since his freshman year. His accomplishments include 12th place at Nike Outdoor Nationals in the freshman mile in 2009 and 30th place in the Virginia Cross County AAA State Championships in 2010 as a team captain. Dylan has been competing in triathlon since age 12, and in 2011 he placed 14th at the Junior Elite Cup in Des Moines and 19th at the USAT Junior Elite National Championships in San Diego. He consistently places in the top 5 in triathlons in the Virginia Triathlon Series, often 1st in his age group, and won the series for his age group in 2009, 2010, and 2011 (4th overall in 2011). He was ranked USAT All American for 2009 and 2011. His personal bests include 4:32 for the mile, 10:03 for the 2 mile, and 15:32 for the 3 mile.

Ryan Peterson, a Junior in high school, has five years of triathlon racing under his belt and dreams of turning pro within the next five years. He represented the United States at the 2009 Junior Duathlon World Championships and the 2010 Ixtapa PATCO Junior Triathlon Pan American Championships. He will compete in 2010 with the US team at the Canada-America Junior Challenge in Montreal, Quebec and the Junior Duathlon World Championships in Edinburg, Scotland. He has consistently placed at or near the top of his age group in multisport events since 2007. He has won the Virginia Triathlon Series for his age group in 2007, 2008 and 2009 (3rd place male overall in 2009). He has been the overall winner in several Virginia triathlons in 2009 and 2010, and won the USAT Junior National Duathlon Championships in 2009 and 2010. He was ranked All-American by USAT in 2008 and 2009 for both triathlon and duathlon, and was named the 2009 USAT Junior Duathlete of the Year.

Elijah Shaw has been involved with triathlon for 5 years. He has consistently finished in the top places of the local youth races and the top of his age group when racing as an adult. Triathlon is just part of his story. Elijah is a freshman at Midlothian High School where he is enrolled in honors classes, is consistently on honor roll and made varsity in both cross country and wrestling as a freshman. Elijah is also involved in Scouts and holds the rank of Life and is working his way towards his goal of Eagle. He is involved in gathering food for the food bank and other community service projects through scouts. He was selected by a board of scoutmasters to attend Buckskin training, which is an intensive leadership course for 5% of the boys involved in scouts.

Josh Shaw has been involved with triathlons since he was 10 years old. Over these last 3 years, Josh has consistently placed either the top places in his age group or overall. Triathlon is just part of his life. Josh is a 7th grader at Midlothian Middle School, where he is in Honors classes, consistently makes the Honor Role and is involved in Chess club. Josh was also on the Midlothian Middle Cross Country and Track teams in 2009. Josh is also involved in scouts. He has served in many leadership positions within the troop and currently holds the rank of 1st Class and is working towards his long term goal of Eagle Scout. Through scouts, Josh gives back to his community by gathering food for the food bank and performing other community service projects.
Cody Spraker is 17 years old and has competed nationally in triathlon for 4 years. Cody was Hawaii State Champion for 5 years in triathlon and has done over 60 races. He ranked 7th nationally in the 11-12 age group. He participated in the Hawaii Marathon at age 12 and Hawaii 100 mile bike at age 15. He is a dedicated student in high school and a contributing competitor to multiple high school sports including cross country and track. He participates in multiple out of school academic programs including Johns Hopkins and national student leadership conferences. He is now training to compete in his 5th national triathlon competition.
Robbie Starling, a native of Midlothian, Va, has been involved in multisports for many years completing his first kids distance race at age 7. After playing several other sports Robbie focused all his time on triathlon after joining Endorphin Fitness June of 2009. In 2010 Robbie capped off his Middle School Cross Country career holding a school record and being voted by his peers as Runner of the Year. Robbie ran for Cosby high school this fall where he finished top Freshman and received his Varsity letter. 2011 has been a banner year for Robbie in Triathlons with a podium finish at Smithfield Triathlon and Richmond Sprint (12th overall), First place finishes at Swim for Smiles (3rd overall) and I Love the Tavern Triathlons. The USAT Elite races were also a success with a 4th overall finish at Flatlands Elites and 18th place at USAT Youth Elite Nationals and he should be one of the top ranked 13-15 year old Elites in the country heading into the 2012 season. Robbie is also a A-B honor student taking a full slate of Honors classes.
Brian Wegerbauer is 15 years old and a rising sophomore at Godwin High School. Brian has been in Boy Scouts since 1st grade, is a Life Scout with BSA Troop 737, and is on track to become an Eagle Scout in the near future. Brian played baseball and soccer but preferred bike riding and swimming. He has been on a summer swim team since 3rd grade. When he heard about EF, he felt it would be a good fit. He joined in January 2009 and competed in his first race in April 2009. He has since competed in two duathlons and four triathlons. Brian really enjoys training with his coaches and peers at EF. He loves the workouts and the confidence the program has given him in his own athletic ability. 
Clay Word, a rising junior at James River High School's leadership program began his triathlon career two years ago as a way to earn P.E. credits. What began as a requirement has turned into a passion. Clay's recent achievements include top 15 finishes at his last three races, and in all of those races Clay won his age group. His best overall finish was ninth at the Richmond Sprint Triathlon in October 2009. Outside of triathlon Clay maintains a 4.2 GPA while taking AP and honors classes. Clay also enjoys watching and playing many other sports like basketball and football. He has been a SCA Senator at James River the past two years where he helps organize school events like homecoming and River Jam. Clay is currently employed as a lifeguard at Douglas Aquatics.

Jordan Word is a ninth grader at James River High School. She is an SCA senator for her grade and is involved in her church youth group. She also helps with swim clinics through her swim team. Embracing a passion for swimming, she has been a year-round swimmer with Poseidon Swimming since she was nine years old. Jorda was introduced to Endorphin Fitness when she attempted a kids triathlon in 2007 and witnessed a sea of red Endorphin uniforms. Since then, she has participated with EF in many area races and several national races. Recent highlights include an awesome race at the 2010 Youth Elite Triathlon Nationals, 2nd place in the 1000 freestyle at the Virginia Swimming Regional swim meet, 26th place finish in the mile freestyle at States, 2nd place in her age group and 12th female overall at the 2011 Smithfield Triathlon, and 2nd place in her age group and 24th female overall at the 2011 Bumpass Triathlon. She finished 10th at the Flatland Kids Tri, 18th at the 2011 Youth Elite Triathlon Nationals, and she is ranked 17th in the country out of all youth elite females.

Melissa Teeple is a rising junior at Franklin County High School and Roanoke Valley Governor's School for Math and Science where she takes AP and Honors classes. She has participated in cross country, track and field, and swimming on Franklin County varsity teams since her freshman year. She attended states for indoor track and field and cross country her freshman year and is also a district champion in cross country and track and field. Melissa's first triathlon was the Smith Mountain Lake triathlon in May 2010 where she placed first in her 15 and under age group. Since then she has started doing triathlon specific training and is looking to see how much she can improve. She enjoys mountain biking, hiking, and camping for fun when she's not working at Parkway View Farm, a local fruit and produce farm.

Greg Schott is a Sophomore at L.C Bird Governors Academy of Engineering Studies and is currently enrolled in Honors and AP Courses. As a long time baseball player, Greg joined the triathlon world in November of 2010 and began racing in the 2011 season. Greg raced hard and placed great in his first season of triathlon and was soon accepted onto the High Performance Team in June of 2011. Greg began running and cycling in Middle School and only recently started swimming with the start of his triathlon career. He soon found out about Endorphin and quickly fell in love with training and bettering himself in the swimming, cycling and running fields. Greg ended his season with a 3rd place 1-15 year old Age Group Finish at both The Luray Sprint Triathlon and The Giant Acorn Sprint Triathlon and swept the 15-19 year old Age Group at the Brickman Sprint Triathlon and finished in the Top Ten. Greg is looking forward to his first National Level race in Clermont Florida this March and hopes to qualify for Nationals in August.
